June part 4 - yearlings, Laney's first rodeo, the Perry in Reno

I know it's been forever since I posted...I might get off the slacker wagon, and I may not, can't promise anything. I'm really not slacking, we have been busy, busy, busy this summer and back and forth between Wyoming and Arizona. We moved out of our house and into a storage trailer and camper. We have had A LOT of change in a very short amount of time...I will try and catch you all up.
Here are my babies doing real cowgirl work! Scott roped this calf on the ground then handed the rope to Laney on River. Laney dallied and held the rope tight while they branded and castrated this calf. She is awesome help! And cuter than a bug's ear!

By the way, Scott took all the crooked pics :)
Here they are gathering the shipping pasture, helping out. They are so stinking cute, it near kills me. Those two mares are embedded into my heart! They are so good to my girls, love those horses.

Laney at her youth rodeo. She untied a ribbon off of a goat's tail, she ran barrels, she ran poles and won her first check with a 2nd place, and she was in the dummy roping where she roped 2 out of 3. She is so fun to watch, she has so much fun.

A few more pics of our yearlings. Putting out salt and mineral. They were a super nice set, probably overall one of the nicest sets we have ever owned.

The Perry! This was in Reno, NV. We drove out there, roped at a World Series outside of Reno over the weekend, then Scott roped in the Perry D. No luck winning, but Scott made the short round 3 times in the World Series and roped the dog snot out of 2 of their 3 steers at the Perry. They did awesome...I'm always proud of him. Tana had a slight concussion out there...playing swinging monkeys on these metal pipes that divide parts of the stands, she was running and whacked into one with her forehead. It knocked her backwards onto the concrete...giant goose egg the size of a golf ball on the back of her head, giant bruise on the front of her forehead. It happened so fast. She was ok...banged up and sore for a few minutes, but ok. She is totally full contact!

I will post the July posts now :)
