In loving memory of Shiloh Brown

This week started out really great...got another new dog, a rescue, pure bred (we think) border collie walking along a highway in the middle of nowhere in South Dakota...a friend picked him up. He works awesome and answers to the name Jack...he's so sweet and seems to be fitting in perfectly. Had a fun week with the girls, doing normal things...then yesterday our lives got turned upside down. Shiloh, our friend and our employee was killed. Not something I really wanted to blog about but someday Laney and Tana are going to want to remember him on here. He was a huge part of everyday of our lives.  He helped with every part of our operation, rode horses, drove feed truck, doctored cattle, fixed everything, welded, fixed electrical things, fixed mechanical things...anyway...I can't sleep and thought this might help. Scott and I are hanging in there, not getting much sleep, we've cried a lot of tears, not sure really what to even say. He and Laney were close buddies...Tana and he were as good of buds as they could be with no language yet...He loved them, they loved him. He was easy to be around and easy to like. He had a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and was always making me, well everyone laugh. In fact, I honestly can't remember a single day I worked around him that he didn't make me laugh...just a constant on-going comedy stream coming out of him. We will miss you so much, Shy...love you...hope your easy chair in heaven brings as much laughter to those other angels up there as you brought into our lives.
