Halfway thru CFD
Halfway through CFD (Cheyenne Frontier Days) and wishing we were done now. I'm posting this from Volk's computer in Cheyenne where I've been the last couple of days and am here until Sunday. The week has gone really good but being pregnant and chasing after an 18 month old in the 90 some-odd degree heat gets to be a bit much by the end of the day. Laney got a new rope at CFD that she loves to capture Charlie Horse with. She doesn't quite hold it or throw it correctly yet but she loves catching stuff, she says "ha" and laughs in a growly bear kind of voice...it's pretty funny. She also had a mini (turned out to be not so necessary) trip to the ER Saturday night. She was running around Volk's living room on the balls of her feet barefoot, and her ankle just gave out. She tried walking on it several times and would just sit and cry holding her ankle. So we took her in to have it checked out. Turns out that she sprained it...they just gave her some ibuprofen and told us to keep her from running...yeah right!! But she seems to be doing lots better. She was quite the ham bone with the ER staff though. They asked her where it hurt and she pointed to her ankle each time. But while she was sitting there she just was making adorable faces and saying funny things that had the staff in stitches! No pun intended there really. Laney is now saying "boo boo" for her owies, "POPpy" for the potty, and "toe". She also is saying the letter "V" very well.
