'puppy', 'me', eating with a spoon

Well Laney is definitely entertaining. She is now saying 'puppy', 'me', and feeding herself pretty well with a spoon. She loves being the big girl and eating by herself, but insists on ripping her bibs off...so sorry to whomever might get her hand-me-downs :0 The picture of her with the salad, she was outside playing for a long time, and was hungry when she came inside. I opened the fridge and she grabbed the arugula and just opened it, grabbed some leaves and started munching...a girl after my own heart :) She hears everything, and if you talk about her and she hears you, she will do or say the things she hears you talking about. While I was playing the video, she heard me ask her in the video to say puppy and me, so she says them while watching with me. Even if it seems like she isn't listening, and you think you can sneak something in that she probably wont pick up on, sure enough she's heard it, understands it, and either goes to show you, tells you, or repeats what you said. Every day truly brings something new, she just wakes up and just says something new or does something new. Oh, and as she is drifting off to sleep, she practices saying new words she has learned...you hear a faint 'puppy' as she falls asleep. We went to the doctor today to hear the heartbeat of our new baby, yep preggers again, due right around Thanksgiving thanks to Phoenix and Hawaii :) When my doctor put the little device up to my belly, Laney got so upset, she kept reaching for me saying, "mama, mama". She was crying so loudly that Scott had to take her out into the hallway so the doctor could hear the heartbeat. She didn't want mommy to be touched by the scary black wand, too smart and too cute!

15 Months

It's a little hard to believe that Laney is already 15 months old. She is talking and signing a lot. Her vocabulary is expanding all the time. She now says, mom, dad, mama, dada, mommy, daddy, Bob, ball, Dadie (for Sadie), poop, pee, tot (for hot), dis (for this), dat (for that), buh bee (for buzzy bee), baby, 'mah' for a cow moo, 'mow' for a cat meow, she barks for dog, squeals for elephant, growls for lions, tigers, and bears, oh my :) She makes her own fishy face by popping her lips together, and her motor boat sound has now been adopted as what a horse says. The picture of her with the hot pad happens all the time, she loves to go and open that drawer, put on the glove and walk around saying "tot, tot, tot". She continues to love to read her books, in fact I often find that she has crawled up in a chair with a book to read by herself. She is cutting some new teeth now but has really been a sport, they don't seem to be bothering her much. We have been having really nice weather so we have been outside a lot gathering rocks and getting "Dadie" and "Bob" to chase us.

Laney video with Sadie and "bob"

"Bob"

Last Thursday, Laney took her first digger and scraped up her sweet little nose and wacked her forehead :( She was playing outside for a couple hours in the morning, then she came in, took a nap, and then went back out to play. She was right outside the sliding glass door on those concrete steps, and the shadow of the house was cast across the second step. The edge of that shadow had changed from near the edge of the step to just beyond the edge of the step by the afternoon. Laney was just walking along (I think) thinking that the shadow was the edge of that step, and just as she reached the edge she realized the edge was there and tried to stop...only to fall right on her nose and forehead...that was the worst feeling. It happened in slow motion and I just couldn't reach her fast enough. Poor punkin, the pics in the salmon jacket are from that day...and that face I thought was just perfect...although she was making that face because of a food she wanted that I wasn't getting fast enough :) She bounced right back into a happy mood after the initial cries, I however felt like throwing up, bleh...not a good feeling watching that happen. Laney loves taking my undies and wearing them as a backpack :) that is what she is wearing in the colander :) Her and Newt are really getting to be great buddies, and she loves hugging all the dogs, it's so cute, she really loves them. This morning, I took the first picture of her with Howdy Bob. She was still crashed, he came in and laid down on her. When she woke up, I just heard her giggle and then she said "Bob". Oh and he is ok in the pictures of he and Newt, that is how they play, Newt just grabs Howdy Bob around the neck and carries him around. They are quite the pair.
