19 weeks!

Somehow I look less pregnant the longer I am pregnant :) I'm almost to the halfway point now.

Our little bun is now a small mango in size, 6 inches long. It sleeps 18 hours a day and is only awake 6. Too bad that pattern wont probably last after it's born.

I've been getting lots of pains from my belly trying to stretch out. Even though you can't see it yet :) My ligaments are ripping and tearing trying to make more room for baby, nice huh?! Most of the pain has been on the bottom of my ribcage on my right side, a few in my lower abdomen, but the kind that takes your breath away for a little bit. Sometimes they wake me up at night and feel similar to a "catch" in your back, but take a little longer to go away.

My nausea is nearly gone now, finally! I haven't needed a nausea pill for 2 days now, so hopefully that means I'm over that stage. Still no weird cravings, but food is much more appealing. Nectarines are still my favorite snack, just don't know what I'm going to do when they aren't in season anymore???!!!

18 weeks :)

Do I look pregnant yet???
The book says our little bun is now a vegetable :) 5 1/2 inches long about the size of a large baking potato. I guess there aren't any fruits that measure that big. It also says that it's vocal chords are developed and working, although no sound can be heard yet because there isn't any air.
Scott and I have been wondering and sortof worrying about how the dogs will accept the new addition into their lives. We aren't worried about Sadie, she loves every kid and baby she comes in contact with, she's always a happy accepting girl. Jo and Gus were more of a concern for us. We thought Jo might be jealous and a little possesive of us towards the baby or maybe get snippy. That is our main concern with Gus too because they both are so attached to us. Well, our neighbors Kelly and Jason have Klacie who will be 4 in November and now they have Carter who was born on July 9th, as test cases :) Klacie has been around Jo for a couple years now and Jo's gotten more used to her but still isn't sure about her running around squealing. We had them over for dinner last night and we were pleasantly surprised with her reaction towards Carter. Whenever Carter would cry or make noises of any kind, Jo got so concerned, her ears perked up, she went and sat next to whoever was holding him and she'd touch his hand or foot with her nose. It was so cute to watch how worried she'd get when he'd fuss :) Gus would smell him when he would coo or just sit there quietly when I was holding him and didn't seem at all bothered by that, but would just run and hide or sit on Scott's or my foot for comfort when he heard him cry. I think having Carter around will give them a little time to get used to those smells and noises before they are around it full time. I also think they will be a little more accepting of our child because it will smell like us and be with us all the time.

perfect :)

Doctor appointment went great! I got to hear the heartbeat again which NEVER gets old :) I've gained the "perfect" amount of weight as my doctor put it, and my uterus measures 17 cm which is equivalent to the number of weeks I'm pregnant, which was spot on. When they measure your uterus they start at your pubic bone and go to the top of your uterus which they call the fundus...heee heee it's fundus in my uterus... :) sorry just cracking myself up :)

17 weeks already!

Ha ha, you can't tell any difference can you?! The picture on the left is 16 weeks and the one on the right is 17 weeks, but they look the same :) In fact I look more pregnant in the 16 week one!
Oh well one of these days I'll probably be wishing I looked like either one of these!
Wow how the time is flying! I have a doc appointment today, nothing exciting, just getting weighed and measured. The weeks are really going pretty fast though, in just 3 more weeks we get to have another ultrasound!
Still no really weird cravings have hit...no more hot dogs with green relish...even though I'm now stocked up on the good kind, that craving only lasted for 2 days. I'm still eating nectarines all the time...I'm not so sure that is a craving but just something that always tastes great. The pregnancy brain is starting to hit though...forgetful Al has set in! I have to carry a notebook with me now just to remember why I just went into that room to get what again?
The books say our little bun is now 5 inches long, no fruit reference this time, and it's little eyes can detect light through my belly! It's little ears and hearing are developed and working so it can hear me now when I tell it little secrets, haiku's and whatnot's :) It's kind of sereal still.

16 weeks!

Ok so now my baby is the size of an avacado, which are tasting really great too by the way, but still not showing according to everyone. So I'm tempted to not put a belly pic on this week. I totally feel like I'm showing...probably because I'm used to being able to suck it in and I can't do that now. So I'll take a picture today, but I think I'll wait another week to post next weeks pictures to see if you see any difference then :)
I'm fighting the dry heaves and nausea still, especially in the evenings. I'm convinced it's not going to leave me alone.
I read that our baby's taste buds are formed and that it can taste all my food now. This article said that the baby will most likely be fond of what it tastes inside me. So the more fruits and veggies I eat now while I'm pregnant apparently it'll like them when it's trying foods. The article said that spices especially have a big impact...garlic, spicy food...well my kid's going to love those two things! Mexican food is tasting great, the spicier the better :)
