progress on the mare motel

The mare motel construction has begun...love that they call them mare motels by the way. Ours is really a gelding motel with room for mares lol. We added a few saguaro cacti...which I just love, they are really beautiful. The girls are loving their green grass lawn, they run and roll and play in it constantly. Tana plays with Jo all the time in it...which is the perfect pairing...Jo never bites the ball she just herds it therefore never accidently biting my kid, Tana is a ball hog, which Jo just loves, so Tana can laugh and throw the ball all she wants without having to share or give anyone else a turn. It's pretty cute. Scott and I had another great day roping Sunday. I started on Goose, but my first steer was a runner and Goose seemed off, didn't want to run, after the run he seemed sore so I then rode Joe, who I've never rode, just jumped on him, blew him out and backed in the box. I roped 2 for 2 on him, he did awesome. Then Scott wanted to trade me horses...he was heeling on Buckshot but after his first steer, Buckshot wasn't wanting to stop. So traded again, and I roped 4 for 4 on Buckshot but only 1 of my heelers caught and we were too long to get in the short round. But Scott won fast time and 1st!! yay...although some of the old guys around here are starting to take notice. I'm so proud of my hubs! He is a very gracious and humble dude and just takes his winning in stride with any other day. So proud of him. He went back to WY Tuesday to move our cows to winter grass and get them trucked closer to home, so I decided not to rope this week without him...too much to manage by myself with the girls...so I'm really looking forward to him getting back so we can rope some more. I'm definitely missing SONrise church and all the people there. I miss my ladies group so much too, just love you girls! But I've been praying to find a church down here that fits us and that we like and I think today we may have found one. The girls and I went to one very close to the house and a couple of my new friends were there and their kids that go to Laney's new school, so the girls loved it too. My heart still wants to be with SONrise, but this seems like a good fit while we are here...so glad :)
