Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day! I'm late posting, I had trouble with my uploading...couldn't just work the same each time, that would be too easy. Mother's Day was quite fun. Scott and I took the girls to a team roping here in Torrington. Scott ended up winning 4th in one of them, I won nothing, however, had a super awesome day. I roped 10 of my 12 steers, even had a clean fast run in the short round, but it just didn't pan out for money. My horse worked awesome, as usual for him, and I roped better than I had the last roping, but I gotta admit I was a little bummed not to win anything. It was a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day, the girls had so much fun playing, and they cheered for us every run. It was pretty cute to hear them in the stands yelling "go Mommy, good job." Laney continues to impress me with how well she rides by herself. The other day, however, she got scared for the first time. Sis, her trusty steed, used to be Scott's go to heeling horse. She doesn't ever really extend any effort at all, unless it's to chase a steer down, make a corner, and stop. Well, we were roping steers and Laney was riding so well all around. She rode Sis down near the roping boxes and she went to the heeling side to stay out of the way so that Colby could score a steer. Well, when Sis heard the gates on the chute bang, she trotted out after the steer and followed it down the arena. It startled Laney and made her cry, but Sis trotted up to me and stopped. I was proud of Laney for riding her through it, and after I explained to her that that used to be Sis' job, she gave Sis a pat and told her she did a good job, "but please don't do that again." She loves to brush Sis and give her grain. Sis is so awesome with her, just eats up all the attention...and the grain lol. I sold all the puppies that we wanted to sell, the male puppies are all with new homes, and I even sold Pokey, the oops child, to a guy who just wanted a pet. I feel like we've downsized, yet we still have 8 border collies and 1 corgi. The remaining girl puppies are growing, and still so cute. The pics of Laney in the baby swing make me laugh. She loves getting in that thing, cramming herself in it, and swinging still. Seems impossible that she can't fit in it anymore...it was not that long ago she would swing for hours in that thing. She even got the music to play, and it was oddly soothing to listen to as I was working on my computer to hear that crazy little tune in the background. The pics of Laney and Tana drinking out of the water tank with the dogs, well...yes, that's the cow water tank...that's why they have strong immune systems :) Our pool got all it's plumbing and electrical stuff this last week, and it gets shotcreted this coming week, exciting to see that unfold.
