2 weeks in 1...again
Quick note...These pics are from 2 weeks ago, the puppies were just getting their eyes open, 2 weeks old, just starting to get around a little. Tana is so funny with them "awww look at dat puhhhpeee", she sounds so stinking cute! And another note, we finally bought a house, in Wickenburg, AZ, and headed there that week. So the end of that week, and this last week I was without Internet...but now I'm hooked up and able to blog again from here too. We are still partially vacationing here until we get settled down here, then we will be back and forth a lot. We are in the process of getting the house painted, so I have a few before and after pics of how that's turning out, as well as some other funny shots...so here are the pics from last week.
This week has been relaxing because we didn't have a strict schedule, but kinda tiring just getting settled in. It's just part of any new place, you remembered stuff and you forgot stuff. Trying to remember what you forgot while you're at the store with a 2 year old and a 4 year old doesn't work all that well, so I have another trip to town to get all the forgotten items...this time with a new list! The "puhpees" as Tana calls them, are getting pretty darn cute. They are getting around really well and starting to wrestle with one another, barking, growling, they are fun. The girls have been thoroughly enjoying the nice weather. They play in the water, we ride bikes, play ball, go on walks...catch lizards. We went on a walk a few evenings ago and Newt joined us. I planned on leaving them all at the house but Laney tripped and scrapped her knee up, cried, he must have heard her crying because a few minutes later he showed up. He sniffed her and body hugged her like he does, then just laid down next to her until she felt like walking. She gave him a big hug around the neck and said "thanks Newt for loving me." Really sweet. Anyway, so off we walk with Newt. Well, Newt spots something scurrying along the ground and he's on it. So Laney runs over "what is it Newt, what is it?" She finally sees it, then asks me if she can catch it. I say yes, thinking she wont be able to because they are pretty fast little dudes, but after a few tentative, ew gross-type pokes, she snags it up. Tana starts jumping around flapping her arms (similar to another someone I know who flaps her arms in stressful situations) and yells "no Lay-deee, no Lay-dee, don't peek up da liderd, ahhhh". So now we have a lizard living in a Ziploc container with a twig, a rock, a measuring cup full of water and a few dead flies, freshly caught by yours truly. I googled our new friend who Laney named "Tarsha" for a minute, then wanted to name it "Laney", then now wants to just call it "lizard". I learned that it is an Anole...I don't really know what that is, but it's pretty easy to take care of compared to what I'm used to taking care of. Laney gets it out all the time and plays with it, OUTSIDE, and Tana jumps around and flaps her arms squealing each time just like her Aunt B :)
