Hahaha, warming up, not so much

This week has been weird weather-wise. Sorta nice, then BAM some snow, then 2 days later its green and we are outside, 4 days later it's melted off and we are turning cows out. I guess we are supposed to get more snow this week...I would just take rain. The girls have been growing up...as they do...but becoming even more capable. Laney toasted and buttered her own toast with just me watching...Tana poured her own milk, with just me holding my hand in the "just in case" position...they change so much, yet sometimes I find myself surprised by how much. I'm pretty sure when God said to not become too attached to the things of this world, he meant that literally for moms because their kids would wreck it all eventually anyway. I'm only half laughing. We have been able to rope a little here and there, squeezed in around work with all these cows. We are sorting pairs to get into groups to start branding which we will start on Monday, but will probably end up having 4 or 5 for sure to get them all done. We have also started the AI process for the new set of heifers, which is no small task. We just put the CIDR's in so then we have to take those out, then AI them all. Our feedlot is still jammed full...customers have left their cattle longer than expected due to the grass not being ready. The grass is slower to come with these cooler temps but at least it's getting some moisture so that it will come. Hopefully we get them branded, our pairs sorted and moved, then get those branded, then get the farms planted soon. There is a lot to do, I'm looking forward to all the photo ops though! Lots of blessings...God is good.
