Nann had her puppies

Nann finally had her puppies! Early Thursday morning. 9 of them! She had the first 5, I thought she was done...then here came 4 more. She is being a very good mom. There are 3 girls and 6 boys, and appear to all have short hair, and no tan on any of them...it appears Nap has no input at this point, poor guy. The girls are very excited about them. Laney thinks we should name them all "Valentine". Both the girls aren't feeling well. Laney has something, cough, runny nose, feeling yucky, and poor Tana is getting her two year old molars and has had horrible tummy trouble out both ends. She's up all night crying, her bum hurts, the whole thing makes us both sad :( But the pics of her naked in her "cowbee boots" make me laugh! I had to fuzz out some things, just couldn't leave them off they were too funny. The other morning Laney wanted pancakes, we had made some the day before, so she says to me "I'll get the pancakes ready, Mom, you cook the eggs" I turn around and that pic is what I found, she had "cut" up all my pancakes too :) Tana has another version of Bah Bah Black Sheep too, it goes "Blah blah black eep haah you any wool.." the rest is so cute but I can't figure out how to spell out how she says it all...maybe a video someday :)

Happy Birthday Daddy

I tried posting last night, yet again my picture uploading was giving me fits, but magically it works this morning...anyway, Scott is not wanting anymore birthdays. Yesterday was his birthday and we went ahead and celebrated it anyway. Laney and Tana made him homemade birthday cards. They used lots of scotch tape, and crayons. Laney's had 4 pages, lots of E's all over it and a few R's, L's and circles too. Then she wrote "To Dad...Laney" on the front. It was pretty adorable. We have been calving quite steadily. So far so good, most the heifers are having them on their own with no trouble, small calves, and good moms overall. We did have one very very very small calf. In fact it was too short to reach the udder on his mom...he maybe weighs 30 pounds. So we decided to bottle feed him and give that heifer a twin to take care of. We wrapped him in a rope bag so he'd stay warm and was easy portable...like a calf purse. Fred told me "don't put this on the internet"...my blog isn't really "on the internet" right?? It totally cracked me up, I love the calf purse. Tana is singing all sorts of songs...ABC's, Bah Bah Black Sheep, Itsy Bitsy Spider, How much is that doggy in the window...are her favorites. She doesn't annunciate perfectly, but she allows for all the beats where the words would be in the song...it's pretty adorable as well. One day this week, I was helping out at the ranch and had the girls in the car with me. It was really cold, so I'd drive them around helping where I could. I had a bag of nuts and dried cherries in the car that the girls were snacking on, Laney says "oh Mom I love these, they are so delicious...but, Mom, why are they called cat shoes?"
