SNOW
Well, we've already had more snow in this storm than we had all last winter, and more moisture than we've had all year. This storm brought 4-5 hours of rain followed by a couple inches of snow. Not so good to drive on, but so needed on the grass. Our new puppy Pokey is so cute, duh what puppy isn't...but he is so calm and mild mannered, so smart and learns quickly. Within 5 min he knew his name and was coming consistently to it within the first half an hour we spent with him. He loves the other dogs and pretends he's a big dog, but when it's time to ride in the car in the back with the big dogs he sneaks around the divider and curls up on the girls. The girls love him, and he loves them. Tana says "ohPokey-ohPokey-ohPokey". Jack particularly likes him, and father and son play together with sticks, pretty cute. Laney is adding in her head. If you hold up four fingers and ask her how many she would have if she added one to it, she holds up five and yells "five" right away. She's still our little manager around this outfit. The other day we were processing some calves, Scott was branding them, Laney saw one come into the chute that had already been done and she yells at Scott "Hey Dad, DAD, this one already has a brand on it, I saw it, you don't have to brand this one!!" She's just so observant. Mor Mor and Papa came up tonight for a visit. We were outside and taking them around showing them the place and the changes since their last visit. There was a flat tire on a trailer that Scott had loaded the Bobcat on, I mentioned it quietly to Mor Mor and Papa in a sentence. A few minutes later Laney runs over to him "HEY, hey DAD! Look, you have a flat tire on that trailer!" I don't think she misses anything, and she's very bossy! Just comes by it naturally with this family :)
