Tana 21 months

This week has been busy. Scott had his 3 week check up and his implant is perfect...angle is perfect, couldn't look better. He is still a little stiff but getting around really well. The picture of him with the crutch was at 1 week, then the one of him processing, yeah I know, is at 3 weeks...other than his attire, that's pretty awesome. :) The girls have had lots of good fun this week, playing with puppies (JW's dog had pups) and kitties, they've been busy. We had a new black tom cat show up, skinny and full of love...he looks like he likes it here so I guess he's staying. We gathered up one of the pastures at Ellis' ranch, cows and calves looked so good. Weaning is going really well, hopefully that continues, a few more gathers and we should be done. Tana is getting more and more talkative all the time. She is now saying 3 word sentences, some of my favs "I like 'em" "Mokey like-a-baybeee" (monkey is like a baby) that's sort of 4 words but sounds like 2. And she is counting to ten...yep, skips one, but counts "two, eee, or, ive, ick, tehven, 'a', nine, ten" sooo cute :) And she loves "tinkle, tinkle, lil' 'tar". LOVE this age...the words mixed with their little sweet voices makes me want to squeeze them constantly...ok, so I do squeeze them constantly, but seriously they are so cute. Laney picked the sunflowers for me while I was working. She's been an awesome little helper for Scott. She gets cuter and cuter by the second.

2 weeks post op, walking without crutches

This week has been a little long...for me 12-14 hour days, just tired and no time to take pics or post on time, but at least I'm getting it up here. Took the afternoon to rope with friends, had a great time. Scott is getting around so good. He stopped using crutches or a cane last Thursday, he went from 2 crutches to 1, then the cane for like 3 days, then done. He's feeling really good, even been farming the arena, in and out of the Bobcat cleaning up a few things, moved and parked the chopper...he's really feeling so good. Still gets pretty tired, but making huge leaps at PT and everyday gets more and more capable. He says his muscles just don't do what his brain is telling them yet, but gains at PT every time. He's now riding the stationary bike for 15 min. The girls have changed so much in just the few hours I don't get to see them now during the day. Scott is loving his house husband role and would like to switch permanently...hmmm probably not happening. He and Tana are tight little buddies. She goes up and hugs him and will say "oh Daddy," he'll respond "oh Tana" and she says back "oh Daddy"...its super cute. Laney just gets smarter by the second. We were reading a story about Thomas the Train, and this nurse tells this little girl she's lucky because her ankle was just sprained, not broken. So Laney is asking me what sprained means. I explain it like I would to someone whose like 12 and she totally gets it and says "is that why we puts those boots on our horse's legs when you rope, so we don't sprain their ankles?" Ummm yes, Laney, that's why...really??!?!?! The little boy in the pics is Brody, he's our friend Gene's 5 year old. Laney says "well that is just a really interesting shirt" as she is referring to Brody's...just made me laugh, I'm not sure what she was meaning but it was funny. The first pic is the sunrise a couple mornings ago...it's what I see every morning these days. I'd better go to bed, cuz I've gotta get up early. More funnies next week.
