Happy Easter

Happy Easter! The girls had a great time coloring their Easter eggs. We somehow made it with only one broken egg this year and that was my fault. Laney woke up in the middle of the night to potty, and asked me in a whisper "did the Easter Bunny come Mama?" I told her that I wasn't sure and that we couldn't find out until morning...she then whispers, with her eyes still closed, "I don't want the Easter Bunny to come...I think I want Santa Claus to come instead, I love him." When morning finally came, she comes running into my room, buck naked carrying a hand full of Easter eggs and says in a whisper "Mama...the Easter Bunny dropped these! Maybe we should sneak up on him and give them back." Then she runs to the sliding glass door, opens it and yells "Easter Bunny...Easter Bunny...I found your eggs." The girls were naked Easter egg hunters so I only posted the one picture that wasn't too bad...the rest were pretty funny though. Laney was the egg gatherer and Tana snuggled all the new stuffed animals. Laney counted all the eggs and would put one egg in her basket, then one in Tana's. She went back and forth until they each had 6 eggs. But there was one egg left...when she found it she took an objective look at each basket and says "I'll just put this one in my basket." The other night we were eating ham sandwiches...not really our fave but it was leftover that some friends had cooked for us...Laney tries a bite, chews it and spits it back onto her plate and nicely says "I'm not so sure about this ham." We got the bathroom in the barn totally framed and sheeted, the wash stall sheeted, and the inside of the tack room sheet rocked. It's really coming along...coolest barn ever...but I'm partial. We started transplanting trees this week too, it really changes the look of the place in just a couple hours. Laney was having an awesome time watering the border collies and getting the ground around the trees wet :) Tana just played in the mud. The girls are loving the kittens...they are now 5 weeks old and are so adorable. There are just 2 now...I hate to admit this because you all know how much we love Jo, but she killed the other 3. I'm so mad at her, and she knows it, but that hasn't stopped her. She's had so much time off lately since we've got these new younger dogs, that we think she's going a little crazy. She was taking the kittens one at a time, one night at a time, out of the mudroom, outside and tossing them into the air "playing" with them, they didn't make it. It breaks my heart...but I couldn't figure out who it was until the 3rd one...and the wind blew the door open to the mudroom...anyway, they now live in my basement until they get big enough that she'll leave them alone. Sorry that was sad...but I had to say something because there are only 2 in the pics now. Anyway, we got a little rain finally last night. Not a lot, but a little...and it's cold today. We really needed this rain. This is the only rain we've had this year and we only had those two little skiffs of snow this winter, it's just been so dry. We had to get some cows in for the storm...I'll have more pics next week of that...our friends Pastor Scott and Di helped us. Pastor Scott also helped us get a cow in this last week that lost her calf...I love those pictures...that ranch makes a beautiful backdrop.
