"here a calf, there a calf, everywhere a calf calf"

We have cows at 4 different ranches and there are little babies all over the place. Only one bottle calf so far and we may be able to find her a mom to take care of her. We have a cow who can't seem to find her calf, and a calf who can't seem to find her mom, and they aren't yet finding each other even in the nursing cage, but hopefully they will love each other before the weekends over. Laney named the calf Shadow and the cow Icy. We had the calf in the dog kennel for a night to bottle feed it. The border collies did not like sharing a bed with a calf at all...how demeaning...but little Nann gave her a few little licks on the ear while we were riding in the pickup...with the calf on my lap...I know...and yep it pooped on me. We are having about 8-15 new babies born each day at each place, and so far just the one mix up. The bald eagle is one of 3 that are down along the river by the feedlot. They are so cool. I'm hoping to get some better pics. A few weeks ago I was riding pens with Scott and one of them was sitting in an old cottonwood tree by the edge of our pen rows. It was huge! I didn't have my camera that day, darn it, but it is a very very big bird. The pics of Tana on Buckshot were so cute. Every time the horse would walk, she would just giggle and giggle. Then a huge bunch of geese flew over and she looked up, pointed, then signed bird. Tana is talking so much more and saying a lot more words. She says "bucka" for buckle, "hi woodee" to the cat Woody, "duck", "hot" along with a bouncing hand in the air...her sign..."dat" for that, "hi sadie", "mow mow", "moo moo", "la la la", "bye bye"...and "Da", "Ma", "hi"...I think I'm forgetting some. She is getting to be quite the dare-devil on her little horse Charlie Horse, just like her big sister is. They were both standing on their horses and laughing, and then Tana would throw her arms in the air and say "ahh haaa" in this high pitched squealy little voice. Laney loves to sing. She sings "Ol' MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O, with an ump ump here, and an ump ump there." I have no idea...And she asks if she can have "a canola bar" for a granola bar :)
