"ide, ide"

Another beautiful week! It was in the 60's and 70's again all week again, so nice. Calving is going so nicely in this gorgeous weather. We don't have an exact count yet, but we think we are close to a quarter done. I bet we are even closer to a third done at this point. Several sets of twins too. Funny thing...in the pictures you can tell that we have mostly calves that are obviously out of Charolais bulls...the whites, grays, tans, anything basically except the black calves are out of white bulls...well we turned out about 40% white, 60% black bulls, and have roughly 85-90% calves of white bulls. Maybe the numbers will even out by the time we are done calving, but at this point it looks like out char bulls did a lot more work. I just love the pics of the calves running and playing while their mommies eat, what a hoot they are. They rub on each other, and love on each other, then take off running with their tails in the air, they are so cute. We rode our horses and roped everyday this week again, with the exception of one very windy day. Tana finally made it through a week without falling and hitting her forehead on something this week. She is changing so much. Last night she sat down by herself with a book about sounds and was quietly reading it to herself, turning each page and making the sign and sound out loud for each page. It was so darn cute. She is so funny when she rides a horse. When the horse stars moving, she gets so excited that she just giggles the whole time. Now she says "ide, ide" when she wants to ride, ride. It took me forever to download pics this week, I've got to go to bed...more funny things next week.
