Cabo San Lucas Trip
This last week we went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, it was really a nice break from everything. Warm, lots of sunshine, relaxing, lots of swimming, and sleep, it was nice. Laney and Tana had fun in the sand on the beach until Laney discovered the crabs. There were tiny little crabs, some as little as a nickel, that would run really fast into their holes in the sand when they would see people walking by. Laney saw one running and said "what was THAT?" I told her they were little crabs...she totally freaked out, thought they were going to bite her, and said "I'm all done at the beach, Mama." We saw a lot of whales really close to the shore too. None jumped out of the water like we'd seen in Hawaii, but they would blow and flap their tails, so cool, I just love them. When we arrived we were upgraded to the presidential suite free of charge so we had our own private hot tub which was so nice. We swam most all day everyday in this infinity pool up on the top of this hill/Mexican mountain, it was so beautiful up there. Tana mostly just floated and relaxed with Uncle Volk and Daddy, and Laney swam like the energizer bunny. On the flight home, the flight attendant said her normal spiel over the intercom...when she finished, Laney asked very loudly "what did the doctor say?" All in all, they were both very good travelers. Laney went the first 6 days with no nap...at the end of day 6 she threw up and spiked a fever...we aren't sure exactly what happened but think it may have been the milk or cream she'd had that morning on her oatmeal. Who really knows, but she slept the rest of that day and almost the entire next day. That day was overcast and kinda cold and rainy all morning anyway, so it worked out to be the best day to not feel good. I felt so bad for her :( The next day her fever was gone and she felt much better. We met some really nice people from Kentucky while we were there...hey y'all, we had a great time with you guys! It is good to be home, although coming home to this snow storm was a bit rude I thought! We've been so lucky this winter, this is really our first snow that lasted at all or amounted to anything...and we only got an inch or so. Tana cut two teeth while we were in Mexico also, so now she has 8, I think, there may be two more that have just barely broke through the gums but I can't tell yet if they are really through. Tana's hair down there was hilarious, it got so puffy and curly...curlier than normal and definitely puffier. It was so cute, and the more sunscreen that got rubbed in, the cuter and crazier it got. She kept saying "bo" and pointing to her hair...so I'd try and put a ponytail in to tame it, she'd just take it back out, but it was cute while it lasted.
