Tana 16 months

This had to be the nicest March in Torrington, Wyoming on record. Today, the last day of March, Special Tea's birthday by the way, she's 24, it's 80 degrees and no wind! The green grass is coming everywhere and the farmers are stirring up the dirt. It's been a perfect month to calve. As you can see there are baby calves all over the place. I love the picture of the new baby and her mom facing each other, and I love when the calves nurse from behind as they're walking, just makes me laugh. We are making headway on the barn, getting the tack room and bathroom framed as we speak, so more pics next week, and we finished pouring the concrete floor in it last night. It somehow made it feel bigger in there. We've been roping almost every day, a few windy days that we missed, but that new hot heels toy is so much fun! Tana turned 16 months this week, and she's getting more and more adorable. She walks around with a marching stomp and as she takes a big high step with her right foot she says "hup, two, two...hup, two, two...hup...hup." She is communicating so much, she mixes her signs and words together and is now shaking her head for no and nodding it for yes. She is up to 17 or 18 words and is saying some 2 and 3 words phrases. She says Laney is several different ways "Lay Lay" "Lay nay" "Nee nee" and "Laney". Laney is saying some funny stuff as always "I don't like butter. I don't know why, I just don't." "Mom, can I have a cookie? I walked by them and they smell gooooood." "Once upon a time, Dad took me to the frontier mart with Uncle." "It's not nice when you tell me no, Mama." She still negotiates everything. I give her option A or B, and she'll pick C, D, E, or F until we come to a compromise that she's pleased with...or not. She answers me "yes Ma'am, Mama" or "no Ma'am, Mama".  She sings to the baby kittens and snuggles with them all the time...the poor things don't stand a chance...they'll end up like rag dolls too. They will be 3 weeks old Monday, and Laney is sticking with the names Mopsy, Pup, Sunday, Buttercup, and Peter. Those are all from different books she's been reading. We went and saw Mor Mor and Papa this week and visited Aunt Melissa too. Laney is saving you a kitten Aunt Melissa.
