"Tana'sawakeTana'sawake"

It wont stop raining around here. Last night we got hail that looked like snow, and 3 inches of rain in a little less than an hour and a half. It was a crazy storm. We have a low spot on our farm where the stop for the pivot is, and it almost always has a small amount of water in it. It probably measures 60'X80' and it's usually a few inches deep. Well the pivot stop is usually about 30 or 40 feet away from the edge of the water, it is never in the water. After this storm, mind you it's been raining for almost 2 solid weeks, it's almost completely submerged, only about the top 5 or 6 inches of the pipe is visible. We are ready to put the "covies" away and get summer underway! I forgot to include this last week, but when "uncle Travis" was visiting last week Laney called him either "uncle Travis" very clearly or "uncle Trab"...just thought that was cute. She is so very busy, all the time. She does some of the sweetest most random things. The other day, Molly and her were outside kicking a ball and playing with sticks and she got a scratch on her knee. She bent down and kissed her knee and said "there sweetie, that should make it feel better." Then, I was sitting on the floor folding laundry next to Tana, Laney comes over to Tana, gives her a hug and a kiss, then walks over and kisses me, then goes back to playing. The other day, she had gone potty and forgot to flush. I was just in the process of taking Tana's diaper off to let her use the potty, and Laney runs in, flushes the potty and says "sorry mommy, I forgot to flush my poop"...mind you I've never said anything about her forgetting to flush. She is very thoughtful of Tana, makes sure she has toys that are within her reach, reads her books, and always hugs her and kisses her. She always calls her "Tana bana" now. She often peeks in on her while she's napping, just waiting for Tana to wake up, and if Tana's eyes even flicker, Laney will announce "Tana'sawake, Tana'sawake" all ran together, and then yes, Tana is then, awake. Tana always wakes up with a huge smile though, even when Laney wakes her up. Laney came to me a couple days ago and wanted to go potty but it was dark in the bathroom. She says "Mommy the dark is on, please have the light on". And the Irish peasant lives on when now, thank god, she wants "me hair out of me eyes." Tana is so long...now in 12 month clothes, she's almost 20 pounds (I'll have a weight at her checkup soon). She will be 6 months old tomorrow, hard to believe! She is sitting up really good now. She's getting really good at reaching and grabbing toys now without falling over. I put her in the jumper thing that hangs in the doorway, and she LOVES it. The first time I put her in it, within a few seconds she was jumping and the more she realized she was jumping the more she giggled and squealed. That was Monday. Today I go to put her in it and she starts trying to jump as I'm walking towards it...she gets this frog-leg push-off action going and flaps her arms. It's hysterical, I can hardly hang on to her. Tonight, she was jumping and Laney was jumping next to her and both were laughing...it was so darn cute. They are really sweet together. Laney got a Bobcat skid steer loader the other day at the feed store. I was getting dog food and she says, "Mommy, I gotta have a bobcat" all matter-of-fact. I took the picture of the kittens near the cell phone to show their size...they are so tiny...we actually almost lost Woody today, he's doing ok now, but he's just struggling to really thrive...hopefully he makes it. Laney's favorite place to hide them is in her dresser. When I found them in there, they had only been in there for a couple minutes but Laney had put her water bottles in there for them so they would have water :)
