Naked baby alert :)

In Wyoming we don't get many chances to be naked baby, but we took a couple opportunities to do so this last week because it was so nice outside. Laney continues to light up our lives. She is full of funny faces and sweet noises, along with plenty of grumpy moments too :)

She continues to adore the shower! She takes most of her baths in the shower now, she loves it as you can see.

I have to make this short because the princess needs fed :)

1 month old already!

Laney is already 4 weeks old! An official month on Saturday, Holy Cow! That time is already wizzing by! Mor Mor and Grandpa Tim came for a visit last week for a few days, we had such a wonderful visit.

Laney is very much a water baby! She caught a little cold from her daddy this last week and has been a bit congested. We have been irrigating her sinuses with saline which suprisingly she doesn't mind, and also steaming her in the shower to get it all loosened up. I held her in the shower with her for probably 20 minutes, then I gave her to Scott for a while because she was so happy and content that he held her in there for another 15 min or so and she just fell asleep in his arms. One of her other favorite places is on the changing table pad. Weird as it is, she loves that thing. I've been struggling to take a shower without her crying part way through making it difficult to finish. But today I took the changing table pad into the bathroom, put it on the floor and she was the happiest camper. She also likes the hair dryer :)

Time Flys

This last week, Laney lost her little belly button nobber...15 days old and it just rolled off, fell on the floor and mommy stepped on it :) Her belly button kind of looks like a half and half, half innie and half outie. I just love that little belly I kiss it all the time, which makes Laney stretch her legs out straight and make a little "o" with her mouth.

Laney is growing so fast already. She LOVES bath time, she is such a water baby. After bath time we usually have a very bright awake baby time where mommy and daddy kiss her all over and she just loves it. She is slowly getting a routine set, although she does get grumpy when things don't go exactly her way.

Every day she seems to turn more and more into a little person, looking more and more like one or the other of us. Scott cracked me up yesterday when he said "she is so cute, holy crap, I was kind of hoping that she wouldn't be" which of course made me ask what for, and his response was that he thought he wouldn't have to fight off as many boys that way. Too bad Dad, this little one is just gonna get cuter.

Daddy seems to have the magic touch when it comes to getting Laney to stop crying. Scott hums with her on his chest and she just settles right down. We are really loving being new parents, it's the best decision we ever made. It is still sort of hard to believe that she's really here and really ours, and that we made her....that's just amazing....such a little angel.

Wow, almost 2 weeks have gone by! It feels like just yesterday that I saw her for the first time :) Laney is really settling in good now. Her billirubin levels went down last Tuesday and we were able to stop the lights and stop the heel pokes :( poor punkin. Now she seems to be a lot happier, I think she was getting cold in there with just her diaper on...it had a little heater but she would get cold. I hated that and am very glad that is over. Now that she can wear clothes and be snuggled she seems to be less fussy. I hold her all the time now, I love snuggling with her. It's hard to get anything done though :) She definitely knows her daddy and mommy, she follows our voices and stares at us when we talk. I love it! She loves baths, although you wouldn't know it from her bath in the hospital which she screamed completely through. We have this little bear sponge that we set in the sink and she squats in it like a little budda. Her little expression cracks me up and she just gets all quiet and seems to love it. She especially loves the snuggles in the towel afterwards. We just can't seem to stop staring at her and laughing at her little faces. When she starts to drift off to sleep she cracks these huge smiles that make her hole scalp crinkle and her little ears move, I just love it! She's just magical, what an angel!

Grandma Sheri visited the first week we were home. She soaked up the little sweetie and very much enjoyed her stay. Grandpa Bart came by for a snuggle and Klacie Groene also got to hold Laney and it really made her day :) Laney is so lucky to have so many people who love her.
