Wow, sorry it's taken me so long to post...kinda had a pile of pics to get loaded and uploaded. Then of course technical difficulty struck with the pics not appearing on the blog...but somehow that just worked again so here's a post. OK, had 2 brandings this last week, have another tomorrow, that will leave us with a couple hundred to brand and then we should be done...pretty much. Had lots of help at both brandings, one day was really pretty, the other windy and cold. The wind just wont quit around here. We got some moisture, but the wind sure drys it back out in a hurry. Some of these pics were from a morning where Laney had woke up with her Dad and went to the feedlot with him to help him out. The wind was howling, it was cold, I figured by the time I got there with Tana, Laney would be ready to get off her horse, NOPE, she just squinted her eyes like a Wyoming cowgirl, and happily did what she had to do. We took a couple of the puppies to start work that same morning. They were a bit unsure of what all was going on, but it didn't take them long to get sighted in to Nann and Jo and they both wanted to work. It's been really fun watching them grow up and how their God-given instinct just is there. They are so smart, it's really fun to watch. At the house, they got in trouble for chasing the cows off the water tank...so they quickly learned to let the cows get a drink and THEN chase them off...little stinkers anyways. Some of the pics at the beginning look like we had Christmas all over again...no, just my kids dressing themselves in Christmas jammies and fancy dress...to shuck corn. Mor Mor and Papa brought Vivi and Addie up for a visit for a day. The girls had a ball, dressing up like princesses, playing outside, and riding River. Vivi was riding with no hands, closing her eyes, standing up, and holding her breath at the same time...she was making me laugh...she is a mini-Mike if I've ever seen one...like you put him in a dryer! Papa rode in the swather with Scott as he cut our beautiful grass for hay. And I think that pretty much wraps it up. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but I'll add them next time when I've had some sleep. It's been another busy week so far, been AI-ing heifers too, shipping cattle out of the feedyard, putting bulls out with cows, getting fields plowed, and roping just a bit.
