Bucked Off...
This week has gone quickly. We began ultra sounding all our cows to sort them into timed calving groups. We filled up the rest of the feedlot with calves and customer calves that are getting weaned, so it's loud and full around there. Lots of bawling calves. I got bucked off Friday morning, not fun, cold fresh morning, got bucked off in the gravel driveway and then got stepped on a few times. I tore my right MCL on the inside of my knee, and got a lot of bruises elsewhere. I'm sore, but I got a brace on my knee and I think I can still ride, going to try it here in a few minutes this morning. When it twists at all I want to fall to the ground it hurts so bad, but walking on it and bearing weight, and bending it straight doesn't bother it. It's stiff and sore, but I can't be laid up because of Scott. Scott is getting around awesome, no pain at all, just can't ride a horse yet until the doc clears him the middle of November...so hopefully I can ride, otherwise we are going to be in trouble with all of these calves. The girls are getting funnier by the minute. Tana is really talking and pretending a lot. The other night she answers her pretend phone "Hi low Gamma, Daddy, Mommy, Lay-ee, Ta." Then when I was icing my knee after I got bucked off, her little face got very worried and she started saying "buck off, oh no, oh Mommy" as she was acting out getting bucked off. Laney is really starting to like school. She paints us a picture everyday...the fridge is getting full. I can't take any of them down because she counts them every time we put another one up, and she remembers the order in which she painted them...crazy memory on that one.
