New little friend

We added a new little friend to our family this last Friday. That afternoon didn't start out that great for Laney though. I was downstairs working in my office, and heard the door open. I got out of my chair and went to see what was happening...Sadie met me with a worried look on her face...I ran up the basement stairs outside to the lawn and found Laney standing buck-naked right hanging on the cable fence screaming. I ran over to her and found red ants all over her feet. That quickly she had stripped off her clothes and ran outside to find this pile of red ants. Not knowing what it felt like myself, I called the nurses care hot line to see what to do...she was just saying "owie, owie, mommy, owie", yeah, I know, broke my heart. The nurse told us that they felt like a bee sting and to soak her in soda water. Well that immediately helped! She stopped crying and started playing and splashing in the water. So we left her in there for 10 minutes or so. When we took her out, she was a little whimpery so we thought a distracting walk might help. We walked down our little road towards our shop and heard this meowing. It sounded like a baby kitten howling. Laney heard it and started yelling "mow? mow?" and pointing. I tracked it down and found this tiny yellow kitten stuck full of stickers all by itself. We looked around for a mom or other kittens with no luck. So, Laney has a new "mow". That's its name :) Laney named it, that is all she calls it "Mow, oh Mow" she says. She carries it around tucked under her arm or around its belly, just talking to it. Every time I think it looks like it needs help or rescued from her, I find it just purring away. He follows her everywhere, and he is so little, just the right size. We started chopping corn silage this week, and Laney loves riding in the chopper with Daddy. She also sidewalk chalked Newt...it actually drew on him :) And yesterday I got some great pictures of Laney and Mow on the potty :) She is now saying "too" and "na" but when I try and get her to say tuna, she just says "nummy" :) She is so cute!
