"hi" 20 months
Sorry about the layout this week, the blog site changed its format and I can't figure it all out yet. Laney is talking so much clearer this week. She is saying "Newt" with a distinct 't', and "touch". She just randomly said touch getting out of the shower one day. I can't remember if she was saying "choo choo" last week for the train, but she says that now when she hears the train. And she is now saying "apple", instead of hopple or popple. She says "out", and "boom boom" for the Mr. Brown can moo book.We got a new puppy (which I'll post pics next week) named Tuffy - he is a 2 year old male border collie that was abused...similar situation to how Joe came to us. He is such a sweet dog but isn't so sure when hands move too fast. He loves Laney when she is calm :) but when she gets really excited and waves her hands all over he cowers. It's sad, but he right away realized that we are his friends and he is so sweet and loves to get hugs and kisses...as do all our bc's. Laney right away attempted to say his name "Tuppy puppy" she said and gave him a big hug. She loves her animals, there is no doubt. We even explained that he is scared and needs calm and gentle pets, so she bends down and strokes his fur soft then smiles and holds her hands together and says something in Laney language. Her little buddy Mow is doing well, she still carries him around like a kitty purse, as Aunt B calls it :) That makes me laugh! He is getting pretty feisty and tries to scratch her sometimes. She runs from him and he chases her, which she loves. She pointed to her arm yesterday and among some mumbo-jumbo she was saying "Mow, oh Mow, boo boo". I looked at her arm and there were little scratches from him. She carries him and tries to feed him her food, which he likes sometimes. We went to the U of Wyoming vs Boise State football game last Saturday with Laney. I didn't see much of the game, but Laney had a great time playing in the grass. I forgot my camera!!! so no pics, I know, so bad. She wanted so badly to play ball with all the boys in this grass area at the end of the field. So we bought her her own cowboys football which she loves and we play with it at home. She has also become a little Picasso with her sidewalk chalk on the house :) Luckily it all washes off. Newt appreciates that too, because he is often the victim canvas of her artwork.
