Happy New Year!

Where did 2009 go??!?!?!? Time certainly does fly these days! 1/1/10 Laney ventured by herself up the basement stairs. She just started up and climbed all the way to the top, stopping a few times to check with Daddy, who was close behind her. She is such a character. She really loves to wear Scott's cowboy hat! Scott was putting it on her head, then as she would take it off he would say "bucked off" in this funny voice and she would just giggle and giggle, then put his hat back on for more :) Volk came up for the weekend and Laney had a great time playing with him, showing him all her moves :) She is just a hoot! She did the huggy thing (like with the loaf of bread) with this pillow and was just cracking up, which of course makes us crack up, which she loves. She is exploring and investigating everything. She even checked under the bed for monsters :) The pictures with the cereal bowl were funny, Grandma Sheri had taught her "stir, stir, stir" with a spoon in a bowl while she was visiting over Christmas, so Laney does this now a lot. But that morning I was sitting with her eating breakfast, and she watched me drink the milk out of my cereal bowl when I was finished. She kept pointing at my bowl, wanting me to give it to her, so I let her play with it on the floor. She immediately picks up the spoon and does a little stir, stir, stir, then tips the bowl back to taste what she had stirred up :) TOO cute! I really can't believe she is nearing a year old. Honestly I still feel like I'm "getting used to this whole parent thing", I guess that feeling never goes away :) We just have been so blessed this year and look forward to seeing what kinds of surprises she sends our way in 2010.
