"This is my mommy..."
Laney and Tana had their checkups this week. Laney's 2 year and Tana's 2 month. Laney is 36", and as the old saying goes, double their height at two and that is how tall they will be...so 6'. She is counting to 12 now, and getting pretty bossy :) "Mommy do it, no daddy do it...mommy do it" or what I'm hearing much more often, "no mommy, daddy do it, yeah, no mommy no." Tana is starting those adorable excited sounds, like the hiccup sounding squeal, and she just coos and gurgle talks...she is so smiley and happy and she loves to watch her big sister. When we were at the doctors office a doctor came in before our normal pediatrician to check on the girls. She must just be learning or something, but she was asking the girls names and accidentally called Laney Tana. Laney quickly said "that's my mommy, that's Tana, that's my daddy, that's aney (Laney)" as she pointed to each one of us then herself. I couldn't believe she corrected her before we said anything. Tana is now just shy of 14 pounds, and 24", growing like a weed. She is still on her delightful schedule for the most part of nursing like she's starving all morning, then sleeping 2 big naps in the late morning into the afternoon with a long nurse in between, then nurses like she's starving again all evening, then just wakes once or twice a night. We'd all be getting a lot of sleep around here if it wasn't for Laney waking up in the middle of the night...hopefully that passes. She is now using the potty all the time, wearing big girl panties, and only wearing a diaper at night. She's really kind of possessive of the potty and doesn't like sharing it with Tana. When I take Tana in there to potty, she runs in and jumps on the potty herself and forces herself to go potty all while saying "no Tana potty, aney potty first." Luckily we have more than just one potty :)
